As part of a healthcare development initiative supported by funding from the Government of the Netherlands, the Government of Sri Lanka implemented a program to enhance medical facilities in the Northern Province. Under this initiative, Mankulam Base Hospital was upgraded with a modern development comprising a single-storey building dedicated to rehabilitation and emergency services, along with supporting service facilities and staff accommodation.
The facility includes a total gross floor area of approximately 485 m², accommodating 48 beds and equipped with advanced medical systems and technology to support improved patient care.
